Turn on sales & assessment records

The state's assessment site blocks other web pages from reading it, and it also blocks cloud servers. So the app reads it through your own browser with a tiny helper. It takes about two minutes, once, and works in Chrome, Edge or Brave on your computer.

  1. In the address bar, type chrome://extensions (in Edge, edge://extensions) and press Enter.
  2. Turn on Developer mode (a switch at the top right in Chrome, or on the left in Edge).
  3. Click Load unpacked and choose the browser-helper folder inside your Groundwork folder.
  4. Reload this page, open this box again, and click

The helper does one thing: it lets this app read pages from assessment.cot.tn.gov. Requests come from your own internet connection, just like visiting the site yourself. It can't see anything else you browse. On a phone, the installed app from the app stores won't need it.
